PROFILE OF CENTENNIAL COLLEGE

Centennial College is the first government-accredited College in Ontario, Canada. Our College is well known for its record of exemplary teaching, eight specialized academic schools and extensive partnership building.  Centennial is recognized as one of the most culturally diverse post-secondary institutions in Canada. Almost 100 ethno-cultural groups are represented and 80 languages are spoken on campus. International students are a valued part of our campus community and our International Education Centre ensures students are well-supported with information and guidance to ensure successful orientation to studying, working, and living in Canada.

Centennial offers diploma, advanced diploma, certificate, and degree programs in Business, Engineering Technology and Applied Science, Media and Design, Health and Community studies, Hospitality, Tourism and Culture and Transportation.

Centennial offers post-secondary, post-graduate and fast-track programs, five joint degrees with universities in Toronto, and has credit transfer agreements with multiple universities in Canada, U.S., Australia, Europe, Asia and around the world.

Students have their choice of staying at Centennial’s residence, participating in the Homestay program, or living with other students off campus.

Career-oriented programs at Centennial College emphasize practical experience with laboratory learning, industry and agency placements, individual and group projects, as well as co-op education.  Here are just some of the ways practical learning experiences are built into classroom learning for students:

• train in state-of-the-art pneumatics and hydraulic labs, robotics facility and wind tunnel;

• gain hands-on experience in our professional child care centre;

• obtain experience at Horizons, Centennial’s own student-run restaurant; and

• participate in a mock biohazard disaster, engineer a hearing aid or design a video game.

Co-op programs allow students to gain one year of work experience in their field before they even graduate, which can help to increase their chances of getting a job in their chosen career.

Between working out, rock climbing and playing soccer in the campus gym facilities, varsity sports teams, and participating in the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition – there are lots of ways to have fun and join in on something great at Centennial College.  There are over 20 student clubs and associations for you to find your place,  such as the Software Engineering Student Council, Energy Society, Automation and Robotics Student Society and Biotechnology Student Society.

The Varsity sports programs at Centennial College include men’s and woman’s soccer, basketball,  badminton, cross country running, and golf.
